I recently took a trip back to Devon-
A place I hold dear to my heart,
A place woven with fond memories.
I hoped to connect with the past,
And with the younger version of me-
The one I left behind a year ago.
As I retraced my steps
Along the winding country lanes,
Up and down the rolling hills,
I was overcome by nostalgic feelings.
I longed for the girl I once was-
The one I left behind a year ago.
She was a brave young woman
Who left everything behind
To find herself
In quiet tucked away Devon.
Friends and family had their doubts,
but she was determined.
As I reminisce on the past
I am filled with gratitude -
For the friends I made,
Each one pouring into me,
Helping shape the woman
I have since become.
The younger me was never left behind
In tucked away Devon.
I carry her with me -
She is still brave,
Still determined,
Still finding herself.
